5 Dusting Hacks for a Cleaner Home

Whether you love or loathe dusting, it's a home maintenance must for both aesthetics and general health, as dusty air can lead to a myriad of respiratory issues. To make dusting easier, follow these suggestions:

Swipe a spare sock. You know those socks that lose their partners in the wash? Put them to work! Simply stick your hand in a clean sock, spritz it with cleaner, and run it along dusty surfaces. This trick works great for blinds.

Pick up a paint brush. If you have lots of knick-knacks or grooved furniture, it can be hard to reach certain areas with a traditional duster. To remedy, grab a small paintbrush and have at it.

Love the lint roll. Lint rollers are great at removing dust from fabric surfaces, like curtains, the backs of sofas and chairs, and lamp shades.

Call on compressed air. Compressed air is great for dusting your electronics, but also works for small fans and motorized appliances.

Problem solve with pillowcases. A clean pillowcase makes a wonderful duster for your ceiling fan. Simply slide the case over the fan blade and put pressure on top and bottom to remove dust. Do this for each blade, then pop the case in the washer.
