5 Tips to Keep Your Kitchen Cleaner
The kitchen is one area of the home that attracts the most traffic, and seeing as it's the place you make your meals, it's important to keep it clean—for the sake of sanitization, and sanity. Below are several tips for keeping the space cleaner, longer.
Always wash the sink when you finish the dishes. This is an easy ritual, but when made a habit, it’ll help your sink stay sanitized.
Tackle the trash and recycling. Nothing looks trashier than a heaping pile of items that need to be recycled next to your bin. Make sure your trash and recycle area is large enough so that you only have to take things out a few times a week.
Keep your counters clear. This may be more difficult for those of us with small kitchens, but by keeping your counter clear of small appliances and knicknacks, you’ll be able to clean it easier, and your space will always appear tidy.
Clean while you wait. Waiting for the pasta water to boil, the coffee to brew, or the oven to ding? Spend those minutes cleaning instead of scrolling through your phone, and you'll have an easier time keeping your kitchen sparkling.
Schedule time for a deeper clean. Set aside a Sunday afternoon once a month for a deeper kitchen clean—scrub the stovetop, clean under the counters, and mop the floor. The more often you do this, the less time it’ll take.
